Set on a narrow, flag-shaped lot, House in Saidera draws from the quiet fundamentals of the Japanese house — expressed timber, a simple gabled form, and a loose continuity between inside and out. Charred cedar and visible structure lend the home a sense of honesty, while daily life gathers around the kitchen and dining space, opening gently to the garden through an engawa-like threshold. You can sense the level of craft and attention to detail throughout. This is a modest house, carefully composed — architecture that resists novelty in favor of resonance, shaped by light, material, and use rather than image. It feels generous not by size, but by attention.
